The seminar will address the following issues:

  1. The main problems in transferring proper nouns into Chinese and ways to solve them.
  2. Principles of transliteration.
  3. Strategy of choosing an equivalent character.

Speaker: Yin Xu, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Russian Language Department, Department of Russian Language, Institute of Foreign Languages, Peking University.
