VI International Russian-Greek Scientific Youth Conference «Students for Agriculture» with the University of Aristotle, Thessaloniki (Greece)

The event is organized jointly with the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources of the University of Aristotle, Thessaloniki (Greece).

The first conference was held in January 2016, on the basis of the University of Aristotle, in 2018 the event is held for the fourth time. Among the key objectives are exchange of scientific and industrial experience between leading and young scientists of Russia and Greece conducting research in the field of organic agriculture and remote sensing of natural resources; and expanding the scientific and educational cooperation of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia with the universities of Greece in attracting and involving organizations, scientists, teachers, young scientists, students and the public.

At meetings of two sections conducted in Russian, English, Greek - Remote sensing of environment and Organic farming the participants will discuss new technologies and application of organic farming in Russia and Greece. Particular attention will be paid to the search, synthesis and production of new non-chemical means of protection against pathogens, both during the growing season of plants and when storing finished products; results of land resources research using remote sensing technologies and operational cartography; and the development of new monitoring technologies using the results of space activities (satellite monitoring) and aerial photography using unmanned aerial anthropogenically conditioned land degradation and its consequences for agricultural land use.

Among participants: researchers, academics and students of RUDN University, the State University for Land Management, the Russian State Agrarian University - Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy. Volgograd State Agrarian University, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), researchers of Dokuchaev Soil Institute, Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the University of Southern Illinois (USA), the University of Teramo (Italy), the University "G. D'Annunzio "(Italy), the University of Padua (Italy), the University of Bejaia (Algeria), the Higher National School of Agronomy (Algeria), the Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine named after King Hassan II (Morocco), and others.
