In March, the first stone was laid in the foundation of a new student dorm on RUDN campus. The new building (total area 13,302,7 sq.m) will accommodate 568 students in 274 double or triple rooms. The dorm is due to be finished by September 2018.
In April, RUDN hosted a round table «Enhancing competiveness of young people in SCO countries» for students and staff of SCOU partner universities, representatives of the RF Ministry of education and science, SCO Youth Board and embassies of SCO countries.
15 April, RUDN Faculty of Science opened its doors for entrants and their parents to show them buildings, campus and labs and tell about majors and curricula.
A group of specialists from RUDN university presented the International Center for Emerging Markets Research in Harvard on April, 10.
It was followed by a vivid discussion on "New realities and Russian markets", where the professors and young researchers from the faculty of economics at RUDN university, as well as from other universities and business shared opinions on perspectives and challenges of the Russian economy.

13 - 15 April, RUDN Medical Institute hosted VIII International conference «SCIENCE 4 HEALTH 2017» together with Semmelweis University (Budapest, Hungary). During the conference professor Merkeli Bela, Vice-rector for clinical activity, Director of Cardio-vascular center of Semmelweis University was awarded the title RUDN Doctor Honoris Causa.
The 90-minutes gala performance «Discover the World in One University» features folklore, pop and academic vocal, dances of the peoples of the world, ethnic musical instruments and songs from famous musicals.
13 April, students from Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America will perform on the stage of UNESCO Headquarters sharing their cultures with the audience.
Schools «Ecology of the future» and «Modern social communications» for prospective master students will start work at RUDN University.
In March, Larisa Efremova, Vice-Rector for international academic mobility met representatives of diplomatic missions of 13 Latin American countries. Members of university staff also participated in the meeting.
28 - 29 March, RUDN hosted Career Days for students of humanitarian, economic, law, natural-scientific and engineering specialties. Natalia Neporada, Head of Employment Department, noted that this event gives students an opportunity to discuss potential employment and choose the most prospective career directions.
In March, the Russian delegation made a presentation on the topic “International Education in Russia” in the frame of an international educational exhibition ARA1E 2017 (Conference & Exhibition, Kaohsiung, Taiwan).
