International Conference “Language, frontier territories and the need for language: a comparative analysis of the linguistic situation of the Republic of Kareliа (Russian Federation) and of the Basque Country (France).” In the frame of the scientific collaboration between the Faculty of Philology of RUDN University, the CNRS (National Center of Scientific Research, France), the University of Bordeaux 3 and the MSHA (House of the Human Knowledge, Aquitaine), with the support of the Russian Humanistic Scientific Foundation and of the mayor of Bordeaux the conference “Language, frontier territories and the need for language: a comparative analysis of the linguistic situation of the Republic of Kareliа (Russian Federation) and of the Basque Country (France)” will be held. The conference will take place at the House of Human Knowlendge of Aquitaine on 22nd November, 2012. From 9.45 to 10.15 a.m RUDN University's representative Svetlana Moskvicheva will deliver a speech on “The representation of Karelian Language in the mind of its speakers and the need for this language: past and future”.

RUDN University entered the top-30 "greenest" universities in the world according to GreenMetric 2021 ranking

RUDN has risen to the 28th position in the international ranking of environmentally friendly universities UI GreenMetric 2021 remaining the “greenest” university in Russia. This is the best result in the history of the university’s ranking participation since 2011. The list of the “greenest” universities was published on December 14. There are 956 universities from 80 countries, including 54 universities from Russia. The goal of the UI GreenMetric — assess universities according to campus development ecological sustainability and the energy-saving model of university management.
