September 17, 2013, the Mexican Embassy hosted a celebration and a state reception on the occasion of the National Day of Mexico – an anniversary of Declaration of Independence. Ambassador of Mexico in the RF in his opening address and at the following ceremony “El Grito” highlighted the period of the fight of Mexican people for independence. That fight started on September 16, 1800, under the leadership of padre Miguel Idalgo in a small town Dolores and was completed in 1821 by the Declaration of Independence of Mexico. This independence appeal went down in history as “Grito de Dolores” (“The call of Dolores”). Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Russia) headed by Director of Latin American Department -vice director of ASDC (Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps), foreign service nationals accredited in Moscow, representatives of governmental organizations, cultural establishments and establishments science and education participated in a special event and reception. Among all the participants of this event were representatives from RUDN University-the Director and members of the Department of North and Latin America.

RUDN University entered the top-30 "greenest" universities in the world according to GreenMetric 2021 ranking

RUDN has risen to the 28th position in the international ranking of environmentally friendly universities UI GreenMetric 2021 remaining the “greenest” university in Russia. This is the best result in the history of the university’s ranking participation since 2011. The list of the “greenest” universities was published on December 14. There are 956 universities from 80 countries, including 54 universities from Russia. The goal of the UI GreenMetric — assess universities according to campus development ecological sustainability and the energy-saving model of university management.
