RUDN strengthens its position among the best universities in the world

RUDN has strengthened its position in the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2021 — the university is presented in 9 directions.

RUDN University has also been presented in 6 THE subject rankings for several years. This year — in the following positions:

• “Business and Economics” — 501-600
• “Social Sciences” — 501-600
• “Computer Science” — 501-600
• “Medicine and Health” — 601+
• “Natural Sciences” — 601-800
• “Engineering and Technology” — 601-800

Positions are assessed by 13 performance indicators grouped in 5 areas: “Teaching”, “Research”, “Citations”, “International outlook” and “Industry Income”.

In “Education” RUDN University showed the best result due to achievements in 3 indicators: “Proportion of international students” (99.7 scores), “Staff — to — student ratio ” (79.8 scores) and “Citations” (74.9 scores) .

In “Arts and Humanities”, RUDN University showed positive dynamics in terms of “Citations” (96.4 scores) and “Proportion of international students” (89.3 scores).

In “Life Sciences” RUDN entered the ranking according to the indicators “Proportion of international students” (95.6 scores) and “Proportion of international staff” (61 scores).

“At the Agrarian and Technological Institute, we focus on international research and academic projects and work with leading scientists in the world. Among our staff soil scientists Yakov Kuzyakov and Evgenia Blagodatskaya, who received the Web of Science Clarivate Awards as the most cited scientists in the field of Agriculture and Forestry. We have established a center for ‘Smart Technologies for Sustainable Development of the Urban Environment in the Context of Global Changes’, where the Nobel laureate Ricardo Valentini (Italy) works. Our summer school for soil scientists ‘From Sea to Sea’ has been gathering 40-50 participants from Russia, Austria, USA, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan and China for 2 years. This year, the school’s lecturers were famous soil scientists, climatologists, biologists from France, Germany, Italy, Australia and the United States,” says Elvira Dovletyarova, Director of the Agricultural and Technological Institute.
