Writer, teacher, playwright, historian and painter — Ana Jusid, graduate of Peoples’ friendship university
Ana Jusid also held a master’s degree in urban and regional development from the College of Mexico (Colegio de Mexico). She taught at universities in Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Ecuador and was an advisor and consultant to various national and international organizations on the topic of teenage motherhood. Ana was also a member of the General Directorate of Culture of the National University of Quilmes and a columnist for the National Radio.
Ana Jusid wrote several novels and essays: «Las niñas mamás», «La Revuelta de los padres», and «Mientras como chocolate». The plays based on the last two works premiered in 2007 and 2008, at the Caras y Caretas Cultural Center.
At Peoples’ friendship university, Ana met her future husband. César Verduga Vélez is one of the first graduates from Ecuador. He entered the Faculty of Economics in 1964 and graduated in 1971. Twice he was Prime Minister of Ecuador and Minister of Labour.
In 2019, Ana’s nephew, Jorge Marco Calderon Verduga, graduated from RUDN University with a degree in Political Science.
Ana Jusid was a professor at the National University of Quilmes in Buenos Aires from 2003 until her death in March 2022. The university opened a permanent exhibition of the artist’s work in the hall of the Faculty of Social Sciences, where she taught.
