RUDN and Roszapovedcenter sign a cooperation agreement
“There are a lot of protected areas in our country and we are working to increase their number every year. Effective functioning of each environmental institution requires a large number of professionals in the field of conservation, science, environmental education and many others. Together with Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, we will be able to raise the quality of personnel training for work in specially protected natural areas to a new level,” said Mikhail Lapin, Director of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.
RUDN Rector Oleg Yastrebov expressed the university’s readiness to comprehensive joint work in a wide range of areas.
“RUDN University is one of the world’s largest research centers and one of the most diversified universities in Russia, in the TOP-5 universities of the country and in the TOP-350 universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings. RUDN University is interested in cooperation and has all the necessary competences, we also have Nobel laureates on staff,” said Oleg Yastrebov.
RUDN University and Roszapovedcenter of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia are planning to work together to organize and implement continuing education for employees of federal state budgetary institutions that manage specially protected natural areas as well as joint vocational educational programs of higher education in the field of “Conservation”; and research activities in the environmental and other areas.

The goal of Roszapovedcenter is to promote the development of a system of specially protected natural areas of federal significance, subordinate to the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, as well as to increase the efficiency of the institutions that manage federal protected areas.
