Anniversary of cooperation between RUDN University and Tashkent State Dental Institute: conference "Modern Concept of Dental Reality"

The conference in honor of the five-year cooperation between RUDN University and the Tashkent State Dental Institute was attended by 100 academics and students.

Greetings were given by:

  • Yulia Ebzeeva, First Vice-Rector — Vice-Rector for Education, RUDN University;
  • Kakhramon Eshonkulov, Vice-Rector for Research, Tashkent State Dental Institute;
  • Alexey Abramov, Director of the Institute of Medicine, RUDN University;
  • Zurab Khabadze, Head of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry, RUDN University;
  • Timur Melkumanyan, Professor, Department of Hospital Surgery, RUDN University.

The participants presented the results of research on the development of a method for determining the color of a zirconium dioxide framework during orthopedic rehabilitation of non-vital teeth and the use of bioactive glass for guided bone regeneration in experiment.

The conference featured two discussion sections: source base issues and clinical studies results.

Topics of young scientists’ reports:

  1. Impact of microbiome status on oral health;
  2. Features of endodontic treatment;
  3. Problems of restorative materials adhesion;
  4. Methods for improving aesthetic results in prosthetics;
  5. Treatment of injuries of the oral cavity mucous membranes;
  6. Problems of diagnosis and treatment of the oral cavity precancer.

“It’s good to know that dental science is advancing. It is with great pleasure that we observe the results of the work of our young dental scientists from Moscow and Tashkent. I would like to note the high professional and organizational level of the conference,” said Timur Melkumyan, Professor, Department of Hospital Surgery, RUDN Institute of Medicine.

“The conference opened up opportunities both for the listeners to learn something new and for the speakers to share their views on the problem and present the results of their research or a clinical case,” said Yulia Taptun, PhD student, RUDN Institute of Medicine.

“For the first time I spoke publicly presenting the results of the research work ‘The influence of the state of microbial complexes of the oral cavity on the development of diseases of various genesis’. The conference was rich in useful and new information,” said Aziza Surkhayeva, fourth-year student, RUDN Institute of Medicine.

The organizers of the conference are the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and the Department of Hospital Therapeutic Dentistry of the Tashkent State Dental Institute.

RUDN University and TSDI signed a cooperation agreement on April 18, 2018. They jointly participate in research work, develop and implement innovative technologies of the educational process, implement educational programs, and also hold conferences, symposiums, and master classes.

The VI Firsova Readings conference “Modern languages and cultures: variability, functions, ideologies in the cognitive aspect”, held at the Faculty of Philology brought together speakers from Russia, England, Hungary, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, working in 9 thematic sessions. The conference featured a workshop, a round table and three seminars in Russian and English.
