«It is not only research that is important, we would also like to cooperate in applied spheres like interpreting from Russian into Arabic. We train conference interpreters in many languages but we do not have Russian», said Rector of the Lebanese University.
Larisa Efremova, RUDN Vice-Rector said that RUDN is ready to implement dual-degree programs and send professors to the Lebanese University for teaching special modules and lecturing adding that she hopes to start in September.
The Lebanese State University is the only university in Lebanon founded by the government. It has 19 faculties, and half Lebanese students study there.
In 2016, 18 students came to RUDN summer school, while this year 50 students are studying at the Agrarian and Technological Institute.
In RUDN’s main building, Russian speech has mixed with Arabic and strict business suits with national attire. The reason for this is the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The university hosted a large-scale event “The Century of Friendship, Cultural and Scientific Exchange between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation”, which brought together diplomats, scientists, rectors of leading universities, and students.
RUDN University delegation, led by the university's president Vladimir Filippov, paid an important official visit to China. The central events of the business visit were signing of a memorandum on the establishment of an International Scientific Center for Mathematics within the framework of the SCO University and awarding the title of Honorary Professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University to Vladimir Filippov. RUDN University also presented its educational potential at a world-class University Forum and a specialized exhibition.
From April 16 to 19, Casablanca hosted one of the largest international education exhibitions, where over 200 educational institutions from 40 countries presented their academic opportunities to young people from Morocco and other African countries.
