Meaningful summer means comfortable academic year!
Big and hardworking family
The brigade members were 220 people from 58 countries. All participants are members of the All-Russian Youth Public Organization “Russian Student Brigades”. They are aimed at productive work — newcomers are also there, they will experience the whole atmosphere for the first time, find new friends and become part of a large family.
Our builders annually participate in the repair of the Main Building, the buildings of the Agrarian and Technological Institute and the Institute of Medicine, sports and recreation complex, the buildings of the Faculty of Science and RUDN dorms. In July-August, the construction brigade of “Meridian of Friendship” is divided into two linear teams: “FRIENDSHIP” (repair of educational buildings) and “YOUNOST PLANET (Planet Youth)” (repair of residential buildings).
Those who have good rest, work well
A lot of cultural events are awaiting the students: discos, contests “Miss and Mister Construction Brigade”, concerts of foremen and brigades, sports competitions (football, volleyball, basketball tournaments), as well as various master classes and the Spartakiad.
“The brigade is a great opportunity to take part in the construction of your favorite university, find new friends, and enjoy a summer filled with vivid impressions! Our university is doing everything so that students from different countries become one big family and have unforgettable student years. The Meridian of Friendship is proof of this. I am grateful for the opportunity to become a brigade member and will proudly wear my uniform,” says Wang Feixiang (China).
“Working in a construction team, you undoubtedly learn self-discipline, because you have a huge responsibility for one of the best universities in Russia. All the builders are guys who represent RUDN University, because the image of the university and all the beauty of its territory depend on them. I am happy to be part of the construction team and will do my best to make our university better!” says Dourado Rocha Gabriel (Brazil).

It’s great that students can participate in the life of the university, change it for the better and be one big family. On a Sunday winter day at the exhibition named “Russia” RUDN University gathered students, partners, colleagues, and organized lectures under the title “We are different! We are equal! We are together!” The event took place in Pavilion 57 on the platform of the Russian Society “Znanie”. And on this day the hall was jam-packed.
The event was attended by more than 350 students from Russia, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, and Tunisia. The students organized an exhibition of the fraternity, introducing the guests to national dances, treating them to Algerian coffee, Arabic sweets and talked about the culture and history of the people of the country. The week ended with a futsal tournament.
On the eve of the New Year, we are summing up the past 365 days and set new goals for the next year. Whatever we do — study, work or do research — we intend to conquer even higher peaks.
