A leap into the Future. Implications and challenges in teaching Languages for Specific Purpose

On May 17, 2022, the Interdepartmental academic and methodological online seminar of the Commission for Foreign Languages of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) organized by the Foreign Languages Department of the Agrarian and Technological Institute of RUDN University was held via Microsoft Teams.

Chev. Dr Mario Pace (Resident Senior Lecturer, Department of Languages & Humanities of the Faculty of Education, University of Malta) gave the lecture entitled “A leap into the Future. Implications and challenges in teaching Languages for Specific Purposes”. The lecture was followed by a vibrant Q&A session.

The event attracted an audience of more than 100 guests including prominent scholars and researchers from the Department of Theory of Language and Cross-Cultural Communication of the Russian-Armenian University (RAU, Yerevan).

New housing types and the search for balance: RUDN University hosts first PhD defenses in Architecture

At a meeting of the new RUDN University Dissertation Council in the specialties of 2.1.12 “Architecture of Buildings and Structures. Creative Concepts of Architectural Activity” and 2.1.11 “Theory and History of Architecture, Restoration and Reconstruction of Historical and Architectural Heritage”, three postgraduate students — Natalia Kalinina, Evgeny Ogienko, and Yulia Loginova — were awarded PhD degrees in Architecture for the first time in the university's history.
