Professor of the University of Pisa Francesco Marcelloni participated in the The 10th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems (ICUMT-2018)

From 4 till 7 of November with the support of RUDN University Competitiveness Enhancement Program «5-100», Professor of the University of Pisa (https://www.unipi.it/) Francesco Marcelloni was invited to the 10th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems held by RUDN University Institute of Applied Mathematics and Telecommunications.

Professor of the University of Pisa Francesco Marcelloni made at the congress the plenary report: «Multi-Objective Evolutionary Fuzzy Systems in the Era of Big Data». 

Francesco Marcelloni is Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Communications of the University of Pisa. His main research interests include Big Data mining, Opinion mining, Sentiment Analysis, multi-objective evolutionary algorithms, genetic fuzzy systems, fuzzy clustering algorithms, pattern recognition, signal analysis, neural networks, mobile information systems, and data compression and aggregation in wireless sensor networks. He has co-edited three volumes, four journal special issues, and is (co-)author of a book and of more than 200 papers in international journals, books and conference proceedings.

In 2017, RUDN University scientists constructed a new explicit second-order precision difference scheme using modern computer algebra methods for 2-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations (NSE) [1]. This year, our mathematicians used a new scheme [2] to construct a numerical solution to the Cauchy problem with initial data (for t=0) as satisfying the continuity equation. Scientists managed to achieve previously unattainable accuracy of the continuity equation.

Languages and translation in the context of interlingual communication

On November 23, 2022, at the invitation of the Department of Foreign Languages of Agrarian and Technological Institute, within the framework of the scientific and methodological seminar “Linguistic methodological foundations of the formation of a translator’s ‘secondary language personality’ and the creation of modern educational complexes,” Mario Pace, Resident Associate Professor of Italian at the Department of Languages and Humanities in Education within the Faculty of Education of the University of Malta, language consultant to the Minister of Education and Employment on foreign language teaching & learning. Delivered an online lecture “Languages and translation in the context of interlanguage communication” (“Languages and translation in the context of intercultural communication”). More than 80 RUDN and the Russian-Armenian University (RAU, Yerevan) participants joined the online lecture on the Microsoft Teams platform. The working language — English.

Zurab Khabadze, Head of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry at RUDN University, improved his qualifications with Dr. Lorenzo Vanini. It was Lorenzo Vanini who founded the anatomical stratification method and created the ENAMEL Plus HRi dental material system. The topic of the course is “Stratification and osteopathic approach to patients”.

A scientific seminar “Toward Sustainable Development: Modern Tools and Approaches” was held at RUDN University. The participants were representatives and scientists of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), the University of Sri Jayawardenepura (Sri Lanka), the Eurasian National University named after L. N. Gumilyov (Kazakhstan) and RUDN.
