The Academy of Engineering held a School of the Student Research Council
The main goal of the event was to increase students’ interest in research work. All the opportunities offered by the University to its students were discussed in detail.
At the beginning, Kupreev S.A. made an introductory speech, in which it was mentioned how the scientific work of students in the Academy of Engineering takes place, in the activities of which circles you can take part, what measures exist to support scientific activities. Detailed information was given about the scientific scholarship and funding opportunities, as well as about the competition for individual support of students in the framework of the "5-100"program.
In the second part of the event, students were told about the Council for Student’s Research Activity and about such an important process of scientific activity as writing an article. Yermakova E.V. shared her experience on this topic and told the students how the publication is created, and what key points it consists of. It was important to mention the forms of participation in conferences, types of publications and to analyze the structure of the article in parts.
In the final part of the School, Marusin A.V. told about scientific competitions such as UMNIK, shared his experience of participation and described the entire process of presenting developments at competitions of practice-oriented innovative projects. The speaker mentioned several key factors that should be considered when preparing projects and suggested options for further development of the project at the end of participation in the competition.
The final stage was passing a test-survey for the Student Research Society.
In total, the School was attended by more than 30 students from all undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses, as well as teachers.
The winners of five competitions of the best research works of students (R&D) were awarded at the RUDN. “Project Start: Our Scientific Initiative” is the main track of the R&D competition. The most applications were submitted for it — 128 works, of which 72 received the highest marks.
The competitive track “Project Start: Research Agenda by Host Countries” is aimed at improving the efficiency of scientific schools focused on applied research on topics of RUDN host countries.

The main goal of the competition is to support young scientists, as well as student youth associations in conducting scientific research. All projects submitted for participation in the competition are practice-oriented and have the potential for further commercialization.
