DFDE-2022, a satellite conference of the International Congress of Mathematicians 2022 opened in RUDN
The DFDE-2022 conference is the largest regular conference in Russia in the field of differential equations and their applications. 200 leading mathematicians from 8 countries gathered at the RUDN. 7 participants were speakers of International Mathematical Congresses of different years.
The high level of the conference was noted by Vladimir Mikhailovich Filippov, the President of the RUDN, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“RUDN has a strong mathematical school. We are among the best in Russia. This is proved not only by the ratings, but also by the fact that today not just leading scientists have gathered here, but real legends of world mathematics. I am grateful to Professor Novikov for his personal participation. I am glad to see Academician Treshchev in the organizing committee. It is especially important that the conference is open not only to participants from Russia, but also to mathematicians from all over the world. Among the speakers are representatives of 8 countries,” said Vladimir Filippov, President of the RUDN.
The DFDE-2022 conference is devoted to classical sections of the theory of differential equations as well as to various kinds of nonlocal interactions. For example, partial derivative equations cover many fundamental and topical issues of modern science, such as the study of mechanisms of thrombosis The conference is scheduled to discuss a number of unsolved problems of mathematics: on the solvability of the Vlasov equations, on the solvability of the Navier-Stokes equations, topological methods for investigating problems in mathematical physics, mathematical theory of turbulence, etc.
“The DFDE Conference has been held since 1994. It is important for us to preserve the results of the work of leading mathematicians, their contribution to world science. The greatest researchers in the field of differential and functional differential equations meet here. I am glad that we continue the history and traditions of this conference,” said Alexander Skubachevsky, Scientific Director of the RUDN Mathematical Institute, Professor, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
The first report at the conference was given by Sergei Petrovich Novikov, a laureate of the Fields Medal and Lenin Prize, a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The topic of the presentation was “Nonlinear waves and solitons” (“Nonlinear waves and solitons”).
The DFDE-2022 conference will last in the RUDN until July 5.

We continue to share the stories of front-line soldiers who created the Peoples’ Friendship University. Georgy Bruchinsky was born in 1917, graduated from the Leningrad Forestry Academy in 1939, and in 1941 graduated from the basic faculty of the Ivanovo Military Political School.
On the eve of Victory Day, we share the stories of front-line soldiers who, after the Great Patriotic War, participated in the creation of the Peoples' Friendship University and educated a new generation of students.

On the eve of Victory Day, here is the story of a lawyer who was seriously wounded, worked for 30 years in his native Tatarstan, and dedicated his “silver” years to Peoples’ Friendship University.
