An open lecture by Research Professor at Tulane University (USA) Howard Walter Milke “Soil Pollution and Human Health” will be held within the framework of the 3MUGIS International Summer School “Anthropogenic and Natural Soil Landscapes in the European Russia: from Sea to Sea”.
The lecture is devoted to the effects of soil pollution on human health. Good and strong human health depends largely on the structure and composition of the soil. Many factors that determine human activity depend on the soil condition.
Dr. Howard Mielke is an expert at Department of Pharmacology, Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Mielke has been studying lead and its effects on health for over 40 years resulting in numerous publications. Dr. Howard Mielke is the creator of the Lead Lab project, a not for profit initiative dedicated to helping communities with lead contamination in children's play areas. He is currently a faculty member in Tulane School of Medicine's Pharmacology Department and part of the Environmental Signaling Laboratory research effort.
