The Second All-Russian (with international participation) Scientific Conference “Agadzhanyan Readings”
On the 26-27 of January, with the financial support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR, project 18-015-20001), the Second All-Russian (with international participation) Scientific Conference “Agadzhanyan Readings” was held at RUDN University Medical Faculty. More than 115 representatives of the Russian and foreign medical society attended the conference from 33 regions of Russia and 9 countries of the near and far abroad (Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, USA, Czech Republic).
During the conference two plenary sessions, sectional meetings, round tables, master classes and a competition for students’ scientific projects were organized.
Four sectional sessions:
- The first section - Ecological and physiological problems of adaptation to various natural-climatic, social and production conditions;
- The second section - Adaptation to physical activity, physical training and sports training. Issues of rehabilitation and prevention in physical culture and sports;
- The third - Chronobiological aspects of adaptation;
- The forth - Health of students, schoolchildren and other participants of the educational process).
Three round tables:
- Medical elementology,
- Breath and stress in otolaryngology.
- New methods of teaching, diagnosis, prevention and rehabilitation
Master classes:
- Registration system for the implementation of practical work «BIORECORDER»
- New methods of ECG analysis,
- New software products for the analysis of heart rate variability,
- Breathing Simulator Samozdrav Hypertension High Blood Pressure Relief and control Device.
Interuniversity seminar “Physiological and psychological mechanisms of adaptation”.
Competition of scientific works of students and young scientists.
This conference was dedicated to the RUDN University honorable doctor, Professor Nikolai Alekseevich Agadzhanyan, who died on December 27, 2014.
In 1981, Professor Nikolai Alekseevich Agadzhanyan headed the Department of Normal Physiology of the RUDN University. Pedagogical activity he successfully combined with active scientific work.
N. A. Agadzhanyan created a laboratory at the department “Ecological and physiological problems of adaptation” with highly qualified personnel and equipment. Under his guidance were organize expeditions to the Priaralye, Northern Kazakhstan, the Arctic, to the Snezhnaya Cave, as well as scientific expeditions to study the ecology of the Black and Middle Seas.
Sphere of scientific interests of N. A. Agadzhanyan was very wide. Numerous complex and highly responsible experiments allowed him to classify mountain heights, develop adaptation criteria and establish the role of time factor in the formation of adaptive reactions under extreme conditions, and also formulate an idea of the “ecological portrait of man” as a collection of genetically conditioned properties and structural-functional features of the individual, characterizing the specificity of adaptation to the concrete conditions of the habitat. He was the creator of a new scientific direction - ethnic physiology.
N. A. Agadzhanyan gave a new definition to the concept of “health”, which, along with full-value physical, mental and social well-being, first pointed out the necessity of taking into account moral health. In recent years, he has paid much attention to the problem of stress - one of the greatest evils of the 21st century.
The results of many years of his research were presented in more than 800 literature works, including monographs on “The Organism and the Gas Environment”, “Mountains and Resistance of the Organism”, “Medicine and Cosmos”, “Biological Rhythms”, “Functions of Organism in conditions of hypoxia and hypercapnia”, “Ecology of man” and many others. His most popular scientific books “Through the thorns to the stars”, “Reserves of our body”, “Man to live everywhere”, “The grain of life”, “Ecology of the soul”, “Stress and problems of adaptation”.
Nikolai Alekseevich Agadzhanyan - Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (1998), Laureate of the RF Government Prize (2007), Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1986), Academician of RAMS (1993), Academician and Member of the Presidium of the Russian Ecological Academy (1992), Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (1999), Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics (1983), Academician of the International Academy of Sciences (1988), Academician of the Academy of Polar Medicine and Extreme Human Ecology (2000), Academician of the New York Academy of Sciences (1994).
The collection consists of two volumes and includes biographical information about Russian demographers and their scientific research. The first volume is devoted to the research of the Pre-Revolutionary period, the second to the works of the Soviet era and the present.
For the first time, RUDN University hosted an International Scientific and Practical Conference on Space Law, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Professor Gennady Zhukov. The conference was attended by scientists from 12 countries - Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, China, Côte d'Ivoire, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and Russia.
The RUDN University hosted the V Conference on Plastic Surgery, which was attended by 387 physicians. At the forum, scientists discussed the main vectors of development in plastic surgery, dermatovenereology, aesthetic gynecology and dietetics. What challenges are facing plastic surgery, how new technologies in aesthetic medicine are used in oncology, perineology and gynecology - we will tell you below.
