About the event

Lecture of the invited professor for students, masters, postgraduate students and staff  of the Faculty of Science.

Frédéric Lamaty - Distinguished Scientist, Director of Research at the Max Mousseron Institute for Biomolecules, University of Montpellier (France), head of Green Chemistry and Enabling Technology team at IBMM, author of more than 130 works and 4 patents in the area of catalysis, organic and green chemistry, Award of Innovative Techniques for the Environment ADEME (2011).

Mechanochemical activation can be a useful tool for solvent-free organic and organometallic synthesis. We have shown that this kind of activation is applicable to the preparation of organometallic complexes. This technique in addition to implementing a more sustainable synthetic approach, may also accelerate the reactions and contribute to the facilitated preparation of original molecules. Examples arising from our work in the preparation of N-heterocyclic carbene complexes will be presented.
