Panel discussion «Assessment and analysis of nutrient pollution in Sieu river basin»

The study addressed the problem of nutrient pollution in the Shieu River Basin (Romania, The European Union). The author of the research project comes to the conclusion that the main sources of such pollution are surface runoff from agricultural fields and pastures, discharges from septic tanks, and fuel combustion products. Characteristic pollutants are analyzed and their content in the reservoir is calculated. Using the Wennerblom model, pollutant performance is predicted in 10 years. In addition, the author of the study proposed ways to reduce emissions into local water bodies.
