"Keepers of childhood." RUDN students were told how to help orphans in the beginning of an independent life
Alexandra Andriyevskikh told students that foster children and graduates of orphanages, children from foster and guardian families, young people in conflict with the law, children from crisis families - these categories of young people experience serious difficulties at the beginning of an independent life. Low motivation, dependent position, lack of knowledge, skills and work experience often become barriers to success. The range of available professions seems extremely narrow to them, there is no understanding of the labor market, opportunities for development. The corporate mentoring program developed by the Keepers of Childhood Foundation, during which all sectors of society, including business, are involved in working with the most vulnerable adolescents, can change the situation. Early work experience with the support of trained mentors reduces the risk of asocial behavior in the future, creates all the conditions for a conscious choice of the sphere of employment, personal and professional development. Further cooperation is planned between the Faculty of Philology and the Fund.
