More than 1,000 guests came to congratulate a university with the largest number of international students in Russia on its 58th anniversary
Before the gala night, RUDN administration had a meeting with diplomats, where Larisa Efremova, Vice-Rector for international activity presented a cluster approach concept in RUDN international activity aimed at forming an innovative educational and research product for training highly-qualified specialists.
The guests conveyed their greetings, staff members and faculty got «RUDN Veteran» badges and watched a movie «Events that changed University in 2017».
RUDN student creative teams showed their best vocal and dancing numbers taking the audience for a ride in the time machine from the 60s till 2017.
A large flashmob «I’m from RUDN University» on social networks united students and alumni of different years who shared their warm memories of the University:

RUDN University – the greenest university of Russia has risen to Position 44 of UI Green Metric Ranking and became #1 among Russian universities.
RUDN is an active research center. In December, RUDN Institute of Applied Mathematics and Telecommunications opened the first in Russia Laboratory of advanced research of 5G nets and Internet of Things, where mathematicians and engineers from Russia, USA, Switzerland, Finland, Portugal, Italy and Czech will do research.
Another important event was the opening of research center «Molecular design and synthesis of innovation compounds fro medicine», which will be the main site for chemists to elaborate less expensive and more effective medical drugs.
RUDN University is developing and promoting cluster approach aimed at cooperation with foreign partners for training highly-qualified staff. In 2017, «Africa – South» cluster started developing in Zambia.
Today RUDN unites student from 155 countries. In April 2017, students showed a unique gala concert on the stage of UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, presenting the richness of ethnic cultures of different continents.
RUDN graduates work in more than 170 countries. In June 2017, Rector Vladimir Filippov awarded Graduate #100,000 – Battarai Khari from Nepal, graduate of the Medical Institute.
On a Sunday winter day at the exhibition named “Russia” RUDN University gathered students, partners, colleagues, and organized lectures under the title “We are different! We are equal! We are together!” The event took place in Pavilion 57 on the platform of the Russian Society “Znanie”. And on this day the hall was jam-packed.
The event was attended by more than 350 students from Russia, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, and Tunisia. The students organized an exhibition of the fraternity, introducing the guests to national dances, treating them to Algerian coffee, Arabic sweets and talked about the culture and history of the people of the country. The week ended with a futsal tournament.
On the eve of the New Year, we are summing up the past 365 days and set new goals for the next year. Whatever we do — study, work or do research — we intend to conquer even higher peaks.
