Blitz-interview: seven questions for the finalist of the "Science of the Future - the Science of the Young" forum
Danil, what do you think is the value of studying international relations?
International relations is an in-depth study of foreign languages, world politics, the history of diplomacy, and ways of resolving conflicts. Understanding international relations helps you to comprehensively assess current events in world politics and offer predictions for the development of the situation.
Tell us about the topic of your research. Why is it relevant?
The topic of my work is the competition between the U.S. and the PRC in the field of technology in Southeast Asia. Its relevance is due to the growing confrontation between the United States and China in the field of technology.
How and in what industry can it be useful?
It can both be used by the research community and prepared as a policy brief for authorities who are involved in foreign policy decisions.
How did you find out about the contest?
I was invited to participate in the contest by Maksim Andreyevich Nikulin, Ph.D. in History and Theory of International Relations at the RUDN University.
When you applied for participation, did you expect to make it to the final?
The scale of the forum is enormous - I didn't expect to be able to achieve such a result.
What plans do you have for Novosibirsk?
I would like to discover Novosibirsk as a scientific center of Siberia and visit the sights of the city.
Do you agree with the statement that science is the business of the young?
I agree. It is young people who offer new approaches and methods of solving existing problems.
Every year, RUDN University hosts a competition of student scientific works “Common Start: Let’s Do Science Together.” The university provides scholarships for projects of young scientists and student associations. All developments are practice-oriented and have the potential for further commercialization.
