DFDE-2022, Conference of Leading Mathematicians Ended at RUDN University
200 mathematicians — leading experts in the field of differential and functional-differential equations from Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Italy, USA, France and South Korea made reports on the latest achievements in this field, as well as topical applications. The DFDE conference is the largest regular conference in Russia in the field of differential equations and their applications.
“All conferences since the first conference in 1994, have been interdisciplinary. In addition to differential equations, the DFDE-2022 conference considered the latest achievements in related areas of mathematics that can have a significant impact on the development of differential equations: in mathematical physics, in the theory of dynamical systems and in the spectral theory of operators, as well as in applications to plasma theory, hydrodynamics , mathematical modeling in medicine, and others,” said Alexander Skubachevsky, scientific director of the RUDN University Mathematical Institute, professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation.
Outstanding mathematicians spoke at the DFDE-2022 conference at RUDN University, including 7 invited speakers of International Mathematical Congresses of different years, 3 Academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences and 9 Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, including:
- Sergey Novikov — laureate of the Lenin and Fields Prizes, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, with a report “Nonlinear waves and solitons”;
- Dmitry Treschev — Director of the Steklov Mathematical Institute, RAS, Academician of the RAS, with a report “Linearization by means of function parameter”;
- Iskander Taimanov — Head of Department of the Institute of the Sobolev Mathematical Institute, RAS, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, with a report “Singularities of solutions to soliton equations represented by L,A,B-triples and the zero level discrete spectra of L-operators”;
- Loran Veron — professor at the University of Tours (France), with a report “Singular boundary value problems for mixed quasilinear equations”.
The first research and practical conference ‘Functional Morphology of the Tissue Microenvironment: From Theory to Practice’, dedicated to the memory of Academician Mikhail Paltsev of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was held at RUDN. It brought together leading researchers from Russia, China and other countries.
The Skolkovo Foundation (VEB.RF), together with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the country’s leading industrial companies, announced the launch of the sixth cycle of Russia’s largest supplier ecosystem development program for industry, GreenTech Sustainable Development. Applications from developers of technological solutions will be accepted until October 20, 2025.
In November, RUDN University hosted the country's first scientific and practical conference, “Clinical Laser Medicine in Russia: Advanced Technologies”. The event brought together specialists from various fields of medicine and biophotonics. It was attended by more than 300 scientists, researchers, and practicing doctors of various specialties from Russia and 32 foreign countries involved in laser technologies, as well as over 650 representatives of the younger generation—students, interns, graduate students, and young scientists.
