IV Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Trends in Research in the Field of Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine” was held at RUDN University
The plenary session was addressed by Tatiana Semenova, Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Filippov, President of RUDN University, Natalia Manturova, chief freelance specialist — plastic surgeon of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
“For me, as chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission, it is important that a new science, a new scientific speciality, is being born. At the first conference on plastic surgery, we discussed competencies in this field. Today, the most important thing is to define the topics, what is relevant in the field of plastic surgery research. In this regard, the RUDN as a platform for the international scientific and practical conference ‘Modern Trends in Research in the Field of Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine’ is perfectly suitable,” said Vladimir Filippov.
Conference participants learned about:
- Safety principles of Silicone Breast Implants;
- Tactics and treatment algorithm for secondary rhinoseptoplasty;
- Aesthetic rehabilitation of combatants.
- Current possibilities of correction of aesthetic deformities of the anterior abdominal wall;
- Realities of aesthetic nose surgery;
- Effective treatments for pelvic floor insufficiencies.
Discussed:
- What not to do in contraversion surgery and pelvic floor thread implantology;
- The realities and prospects of auto-plasma therapy;
- Myths and evidence base of intimate contouring.
“Science is the best ennobling of any speciality. Ours was approved in 2009 thanks to the support of a group of scientists with related qualifications: both maxillofacial surgeons, trauma surgeons and gynecologists. Unlike other surgical specialties, plastic reconstructive surgery does not master any single organ system or area of the body. Plastic surgeons are experts in restoring form and function in all areas of the body and tissue types”, said Natalia Manturova.
The first research and practical conference ‘Functional Morphology of the Tissue Microenvironment: From Theory to Practice’, dedicated to the memory of Academician Mikhail Paltsev of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was held at RUDN. It brought together leading researchers from Russia, China and other countries.
The Skolkovo Foundation (VEB.RF), together with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the country’s leading industrial companies, announced the launch of the sixth cycle of Russia’s largest supplier ecosystem development program for industry, GreenTech Sustainable Development. Applications from developers of technological solutions will be accepted until October 20, 2025.
In November, RUDN University hosted the country's first scientific and practical conference, “Clinical Laser Medicine in Russia: Advanced Technologies”. The event brought together specialists from various fields of medicine and biophotonics. It was attended by more than 300 scientists, researchers, and practicing doctors of various specialties from Russia and 32 foreign countries involved in laser technologies, as well as over 650 representatives of the younger generation—students, interns, graduate students, and young scientists.
