Urologist is a doctor who studies, diagnoses and treats congenital and acquired pathologies of the urinary system, adrenal glands, retroperitoneal space of both sexes, and the male reproductive system.
Most of all, an urologist deals with prostate problems, infertility, complications of sexually transmitted infections, urolithiasis, cystitis, urethritis, and herpetic infections in men. It helps women to get rid of inflammation of the genitourinary system and renal calculus. It should be noted that both the diagnosis and treatment of diseases for men and women are fundamentally different. The functions of urologist is also included the correction of congenital malformations of the genitourinary system, phthisiourology and oncourology.

Educational Process

The educational program is designed for people with higher medical education, aimed at training highly qualified specialists in the study of the pathogenesis of disorders of the urinary and reproductive organs of men and women, kidney diseases, adrenal glands, and other pathologies that occur in the pelvic area. The training is practically oriented in nature and is aimed at the formation of systemic knowledge and professional competencies that allow for the implementation of medical activities.

Practice

The practical work of the resident consists of assistance in operations, participation in consultations, work in a clinic, participating in scientific conferences, maintaining medical documentation, performing medical and diagnostic procedures. A practical type of activity involves classes on clinical bases — the development of diagnostic techniques for urologists and treatment of urological diseases, imaging methods used in urology.
