Employees of the S.M. Nikol’skii Mathematical Institute simulate the regulatory processes in infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), develop optimal modes of multimodal effects on the dynamics of infection with due account for the immune status of patients.
An interactive glove, a robotic palm, augmented reality cameras and glasses, quadrocopter – this and much more is used in the laboratory by RUDN mathematicians to study the fifth generation (5G) networks and the Internet of things.
In the laboratories we open up new possibilities for using chemical compounds for the preparation of medicinal products, carrying out analyzes for biological activity, producing paint and varnish products, plastic products, film- and photocells, accelerating industrial processes.
RUDN chemists look for simpler, cheaper and more effective ways of producing known medicinal products. Experiments with nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds, which are part of drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and popular drotaverine and papaverine, have opened the opportunity to reduce the cost of production, preserving and even improving the quality of the final product.
Physicists of the Research Institute of Physics & Technology, studying plasmodynamics, wave and radiative processes, create compact plasma sources of particles and radiation. Their purpose is very different: from alternative energy sources to perfection of space plasma engines.
This is a good tradition of the faculty. Students from Russia become mentors for their foreign groupmates, helping them to adapt to life in a new country, understand the learning process and quickly master the Russian language, while for Russian students it is an excellent opportunity to practice a foreign language and improve the skills of intercultural communication.
