Science

  • The idea of the modular structure of the microvasculature of various organs was Substantiated. Age patterns of development of the microcirculation were studied. Methods of biomicroscopic assessment of blood microcirculation, which are used in clinical practice were developed. The concept of histophysiologic microsystem as a structural basis for the organization of trophic relations in tissue regions was presented.
  • A new original direction of the laser microangiology for diagnosis and treatment was created.
  • The effect of high- and low-energy laser radiation on biological tissues and the microcirculatory system was studied. The results allowed to reveal the pathogenetic mechanisms of the effect of laser radiation of red and infrared spectral ranges on blood microcirculation, as well as to show the dependence of structural and functional changes on the dose and intensity of photo-action. Recommendations for the use of lasers for medical purposes are implemented in the work of medical institutions. Guidelines “Laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) and optical tissue oximetry (OTO) in the assessment of the state and disorders of blood microcirculation” were introduced as a new medical technology at the Federal level in accordance with the decision of the Federal Biomedical Agency (FMBA) of Russia.
  • Published “Anatomical Atlas: Virtual Anatomy 3D” computer program (with S. V. Rubtsov and D. I. Landau). Atlas received G. V. Leibniz medal and diploma of the European Academy of Natural Sciences (Hanover, Germany) in 2018.

Scientific interests

  • Functional morphology of blood microcirculation.
  • The use of capillaroscopy and bulboangiometry in clinical practice.
