Workshop “Preparing Your Organisation for the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)”
Date and time of the event: Feabruary 27, 2024, 18.00-19.00 MSK.
The event takes place: online.
Background: The EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is live, impacting EU importers and non-EU exporters of products containing aluminium, cement, steel, and more. The EU established the regulation to prevent carbon-intensive imports from undermining its climate objectives and to encourage the adoption of cleaner production practices.
Organisations must begin to gather data and prepare quarterly reports to the CBAM authority on the volume of in-scope goods imported to the EU, as well as the embedded GHG emissions in those goods, and the carbon price paid on those emissions. The upcoming webinar will equip you with the essential knowledge to gather data, prepare reports, and navigate future CBAM requirements.
Purpose of the event: to learn how CBAM works in practice, including key requirements, deadlines and actions required for compliance; differences in requirements between EU and non-EU importers; how SWAM will contribute to decarbonization worldwide; how the EU CBAM can be used to advance your organization’s decarbonization efforts.
Participants: undergraduate, master and postgraduate students of the Institute of Environmental Engineering RUDN University.
