On December 9, a meeting of students and graduate students with the owner of the company Fassaden Glas Technik Friedrich Langenbach (Friedrich Langenbach) was held at the base of the department of foreign languages of the Agrarian and Technological Institute of RUDN University. The Fassaden Glas Technik company is engaged in construction using environmental technologies not only in Europe, but also in Russia, as well as in Asia and Africa.
October 11, the 4th annual Urban Soils: Biodiversity Development Symposium was held at Floyd Bennet Field (Brooklyn, New York, USA). It was the first event at the New York Urban Soils Weekend.
September 5-7, a series of events was held on the basis of the Department of Landscaping and Sustainable Ecosystems of RUDN ATI, dedicated to advanced technologies for monitoring green spaces in urban environments. Employees of the department, invited foreign researchers, as well as representatives of companies in the field of eco-monitoring presented their research projects and practical achievements in assessing the state of urban green infrastructure, shared their experience with monitoring devices, discussed the data and outlined the main prospects for the development of international cooperation in this area.
July 27 - August 10, the III field international summer school «Anthropogenic and natural landscapes and soils of European Russia: from sea to sea» was held by RUDN University in conjunction with scientific and educational organizations of Russia, Germany and the USA. This year, 50 participants represented Russia, Germany, Italy, China, the USA, Chile and France for 2 weeks crossed the entire European part of Russia from the Barents Sea to the Sea of Azov, to study the zonal diversity of soils and landscapes and evaluate the results of anthropogenic impact on the ecosystem.
April 19-20, the Philological faculty Department of Russian Language and Methodology of Teaching hosted the second final round of the University Student Olympiad in Russian as a foreign language “Russia: Traditions and Modernity”. The winners will represent RUDN at the All-Russian Russian Language Olympiad among foreign students in the autumn of 2019.
A team of agrochemists from Russia, Germany, and Chile confirmed the so-called ferrous wheel hypothesis - the turnover of iron in the soil that enriches it with organic nitrogen. The results of the study were published in the Geochimica at Cosmochimica Acta journal.
Kezimana Parfe from Burundi is a PG student of the Agrarian-Technological Institute of RUDN University in the speciality of "Biological Sciences". Education is conducted in English. The choice of profession was influenced by the dream of a young man to save the world from hunger.

December 6-7, RUDN together with the Institute of Urban Soils of New York united leading world scientists and representatives of government and commercial organizations at the International Urban Soil Symposium in New York (USA). The participants discussed the possibilities of research collaborations to solve topical problems of restoring soil resources.
