April 19, a videoconference of the International Expert Council (IEC) of RUDN University was held with the participation of IEC members - prominent figures in the field of science and education, as well as the top management of the university. The topic of the meeting is the results of RUDN University on the implementation of 5-100 Competitiveness Program in 2018 and a discussion of the university's further development strategies. Experts noted overfulfillment of the Program’s key indicators by 20–30%, emphasizing the inclusion of RUDN University in various subject ratings.

RUDN University won the first place at the 47th International Exhibition of Inventions INVENTIONS GENEVA in Geneva (Switzerland), presenting a neurosurgical stereo-endoscope - a device for endoscopic minimally invasive operations. The invention of Russian scientists also won the Special Prize of the International Strategic Technology Alliance ISTA.

In early April, a delegation of RUDN University visited the Republic of Colombia and the Republic of Peru and signed a number of important agreements with leading employers in these countries. The signed agreements will expand the base of students’ practices at RUDN University and greatly simplify the employment of Hispanic graduates, as well as strengthen partnerships between Russian business and companies in Latin America.

On April 12, a master class of the representative of Interconnect Management Corporation for recruiting staff at the IV International Forum SKYSERVICE 2019, which will be held April 24–25 at Gostiny Dvor, was held at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology.

RUDN summarized the results of “RUDN International Scholarship program”. According to the results of the competitive selection of candidates, 19 winners were identified. They will receive a lump sum payment in the amount of 41,500 rubles per person.

Artem Muschenko, a student of the Faculty of Philology, became the best dancer of RUDN University in the nomination “Solo dancer”. April 10, in the framework of Moscow International Education Fair, the presentation of the UNESCO World Education Monitoring Report 2019 was held. The theme of the report this year is “Education in the conditions of migration and mobility: building bridges instead of building walls”. The event was organized jointly by the RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the RF Ministry of Education and the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education.

Specialists of the Eurasian Economic Commission (ECE) - Head of the Department of Advanced Customs Technologies Dinara Sekerbaeva and candidate of legal sciences Sergey Moser spoke about the directions of international activity in the field of customs administration and the skills necessary for working in an international organization to graduate students of the Faculty of Economics of the Customs Department.

April 5, RUDN University signed an Agreement on cooperation in science and education with the University of Bolivarian Venezuela (Universidad Bolivariana de Venezuela) in the framework of the 14th meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Russian-Venezuelan Commission. On behalf of RUDN, the agreement was signed by Larisa Efremova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, from the Venezuelan side - Torres Martíne Anthony Camilo, Deputy Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technologies, Head of the Bolivarian Agency for Space Activities (ABAE).
