May 5 – 13, National teams from Asia-Pacific countries: Azerbaijan, China, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Australia, Romania, Singapore, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Russia, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey attended the 19th Asian School Olympiad in Physics, in Vietnam (Hanoi).
May 4 - 6, 2018, F.V. Rekach, associate professor of the Department of Architecture and Construction (RUDN Engineering Academy) took part in the 3rd International Conference on Civil Engineering and Construction Machinery (ICCSE-2018), held in Phuket, Thailand.
May 3, the festival «Planet Southwest» united RUDN students from 155 countries. More than 3,000 guests came to see the cultures of the world - they learned to dance, tasted sweets, played the drums, tried on national costumes and took pictures.

Nikolai Zagorodniy, Head of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of RUDN Medical Institute, was awarded the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) medal "For invention".
April 19 – 28, the 52nd International Mendeleev Olympiad of schoolchildren in chemistry was held in Minsk.

April 22, 2018, at a meeting of the Association of Directors of Oncology, Roentgenology and Radiology Centers and Institutes of the CIS and Eurasian Countries by a majority vote, RAS Academician, Professor Andrei Kaprin , General Director of the Institute of Radiology of the Russian Ministry of Health, Head of the Department of Urology and Operative Nephrology with the course of oncourology of RUDN Medical institute was elected President of the Association.
19 - 21 April, Professor Tatyana Blokhina, Department of Finance and Credit of RUDN Economics faculty, delivered a presentation "The impact of exogenous shocks on the financing of innovative projects" at the International Conference "The International Conference Organization Development in the Turbulent Environment" in Wroclaw, Poland.
15 - 18 April, 2018, the 11th International Conference on the Application of Mass Spectrometry in Petrochemicals, Analysis of the Environment and Food was held in Bled, Slovenia.
