Director of RUDN Research Institute of Neurosurgery unites 30 neurosurgeons from 8 countries at a conference
October 20-22, the conference “Surgery of the Skull Base”, which has been held since 2015, took place at the Federal Center for Neurosurgery in Tyumen. This year it united 30 representatives from 8 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Sudan, Thailand and Uzbekistan. Among the Russian participants were doctors from Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Kazan, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Perm, St. Petersburg and Sterlitamak. The three-day program of the conference featured scientific reports and master classes, including a practical 3D cadaver course in the laboratory.
Among the participants were world-famous neurosurgeons:
- Luis Borba and Antonio Mussi (Brazil),
- Wuttipong Tirakotai (Thailand)
- Manuel de Jesus Encarnacion Ramirez (Dominican Republic)
- Matias Baldoncini (Argentina),
- Aip Cherian (India).
The conference “Surgery of the Skull Base” was organized by Albert Sufianov, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Neurosurgery of RUDN University, Chief Physician of the Federal Center for Neurosurgery in Tyumen, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Center for Neurosurgery in Tyumen acts as a partner providing the clinical and laboratory facilities of RUDN Institute.

The Federal Center for Neurosurgery in Tyumen is both a medical facility and a modern educational platform. The center has 5 specialized departments, a diagnostic department and a polyclinic, 7 modern surgery rooms, including a hybrid surgery room with a CT scanner, as well as an early neurorehabilitation department. The first research and practical conference ‘Functional Morphology of the Tissue Microenvironment: From Theory to Practice’, dedicated to the memory of Academician Mikhail Paltsev of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was held at RUDN. It brought together leading researchers from Russia, China and other countries.
The Skolkovo Foundation (VEB.RF), together with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the country’s leading industrial companies, announced the launch of the sixth cycle of Russia’s largest supplier ecosystem development program for industry, GreenTech Sustainable Development. Applications from developers of technological solutions will be accepted until October 20, 2025.
In November, RUDN University hosted the country's first scientific and practical conference, “Clinical Laser Medicine in Russia: Advanced Technologies”. The event brought together specialists from various fields of medicine and biophotonics. It was attended by more than 300 scientists, researchers, and practicing doctors of various specialties from Russia and 32 foreign countries involved in laser technologies, as well as over 650 representatives of the younger generation—students, interns, graduate students, and young scientists.
