An orthodontist, as well as a dentist, treats teeth, however, his field of activity is somewhat narrower. An orthodontist examines the causes of abnormalities in the development of teeth and jaws, evaluates their severity in a particular patient, and carries out individual treatment for each case. In addition, the orthodontist is developing preventive measures aimed at preventing the recurrence of pathology and its further progression.

Educational Process

The educational program is designed for people with higher medical education, aimed at training highly qualified specialists in the field of correction of the pathological structure of the jaw, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dentoalveolar anomalies. The activities of the orthodontist are aimed at treating congenital problems, for example, disorders in the process of formation of the masticatory system.

Practice

Having trained their skills in simulation courses, residents are distributed in the departments of dental clinics in Moscow, where, under the guidance of professors of the department, they have the opportunity not only to expand their knowledge, but also to see how to use them in practice, to develop hand movement coordination, accuracy in details, a good eye and excellent memory.
