Profession

Reflexotherapist is a doctor who is treating diseases of internal organs and tissues via acupuncture by stimulating manually body reflex points (acupoints) or with the help of physiotherapy and special needles. Also reflexotherapist rehabilitates patients after heavy operations, eliminates complications of chronic diseases.
The reflexologist is developing and introducing into medical practice new methods of influencing on active points, stimulates the immune system and indirectly affects the infectious onset, prepares women for childbirth, facilitates delivery and takes care in the postpartum period. Reflexologist uses classical acupuncture and its different types such as acupressure, apipuncture, exposure the acupoints to different temperature, magnetic field, ultrasound (phonopuncture in combination with massage), pharmcopuncture, vacuum, therapeutic mud and algae applications on the acupoints, hirudotherapy on the acupoints.

Educational Process

Residency program is designed for the obtaining of professional competences in the target area and the implementation of acupuncture treatments, the acupuncture facelifting, auriculopuncture, acupressure and other techniques on the reflex areas of the body, studies preventive health and treatment of internal diseases, working on biologically active points of the patient body.

Practice

Residents are distributed in the department of clinical bases of the department where under the guidance of professors of the department have the opportunity not only to expand their knowledge but also to see their application in practice. Students undergo analysis of clinical cases, which provides the opportunity to gain rich experience during the course of residency.

Graduates of the program have the opportunity of employment in the public hospitals, multidisciplinary medical organisations, scientific research institutes, rehabilitation and perinatal centres, antenatal clinics, female counselling centres, delivery hospitals, beauty salons, health centres, private clinics, medical universities, sport centres, sanatorium — resorts.
