Profession

Physiotherapist is a doctor who restores or maintains the motor activity and the health of patients of different ages using natural and artificial physical factors (exercises, massage, temperature, magnetic field), deals with physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture — they are all the rehabilitation measures, based on external influence on the patient. Physiotherapy also involves treatment using natural factors and determining the optimal method of exposure to artificial factors (for example, hydrotherapy or laser) on body tissue.

Educational Process

Residency program is designed to obtain professional competence in the field of treatment of various diseases by physical factors: heat, cold, ultrasound, magnetic fields, ultraviolet radiation, electric current, of treatment the diseases of the musculoskeletal system, central and peripheral nervous system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, ENT — organs, eyes, urogenital system.

Practice

Residents are distributed in the department of clinical bases of the department where under the guidance of professors of the department have the opportunity not only to expand their knowledge but also to see their application in practice. Students undergo analysis of clinical cases, which provides the opportunity to gain rich experience during the course of residency.

Career

Graduates of the program have the opportunity of employment in physiotherapy clinics or hospitals, multidisciplinary or specialised medical centres, health centres and hospitals, scientific — research institutes.
