The term "Economy” appeared for the first time in Ancient Greece. Such philosophers as Plato and Aristotle thought and wrote about the economic issues at various periods. Unlike many scientists, they not only raised problems, but also searched for solutions and found them. For a long time, theoretical economics had been developing in different directions and different countries. The so-called classical economics was created by Adam Smith, the famous economist.
Karl Marx with his Marxist political economy made a significant contribution to the development of theoretical economics. For a long time, it remained the main concept in the Soviet Union.
Nowadays, in the era of the globalising market economy,, the economist is the most popular profession in the job market.


Educational Process

The educational process will be provided by a unique faculty staff consisting of highly qualified professors, scholars with extensive experience in teaching, as well as practitioners who hold leading positions in the fields of economy and management.
After completing the Economics of the Enterprise program, the graduates will have both general and professional competencies.
Within the professional competencies, the graduates can analyze and interpret all economic, production, financial, accounting and other information contained in the reports of any enterprise.
Thus, a graduate of the Economics track majoring in the Economics of the Enterprise i set to obtain overwhelming competencies in the enterprise economy including the organization of production and sales, financial activities of the company and its results: cost-efficiency, profitability, taxation, optimal use and development of personnel and other labour resources.


Practice

Each year undergraduate students complete the study by having internships at enterprises which are the Faculty’s long-standing partners, while in the fourth year the tuition is rounded off by a pre-graduate internship.
Students have the opportunity to have an internship as per their individual plan at the enterprises of their choice where they plan to work later or in companies that have contracts with the Faculty.
The internship is based is in the following companies:
• The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation;
• The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
• Novas SK, an oilfield service technology company;
• OCHAKOVO, a Moscow-based beer and soft drinks producer company;
• All-Russian public organization The Russian Society of Appraisers;
• Ochakovo, a Moscow Sparkling Wines Factory;
• Bazalt Scientific Production Association;
• JSC Khlebokombinat PEKO;
• Eurodealler, a car showroom;
• SA - Football Agency.


Career

The Enterprise Economics track focuses bachelor students on working in economic, financial, marketing, production, economic and analytical services, in economic organizations of various industries, fields and forms of ownership, as well as in financial, crediting and insurance institutions, for public and municipal authorities or research organizations.
This major is the most popular and demanded one. Graduates can work at any enterprise because everywhere you need to keep track of economic documentation. You can work as:
• an economist;
• a mid-level or top-level manager at national economy enterprises
• an employee of a credit and financial institution
• an employee of the tax service and other authorities
• an employee in the Department of international economic relations
This is quite an extensive range to realize your potential with the possibility of career growth.
