Profession

The purpose of the programme is to organize an in-depth professional training of future employees of the judiciary, the prosecutor's office and other law enforcement state and non-state bodies and organisations for law enforcement activities at the expert-consulting, research, and pedagogical levels. Most of the students begin working in the profession from the first year of studies. Graduates of the master’s degree programme acquire knowledge about various types of judicial, law enforcement and human rights bodies, their powers, obligations to the state and to the citizen, relationship of these bodies with each other and other state and non-state bodies and organisations. Graduates will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice in their future profession.


Educational Process

The programme is aimed at conducting topical fundamental and applied scientific research on the issues of legitimacy, law and order, protection of human and civil rights and freedoms, protection of the interests of society and the state; administering of judicial and prosecutorial bodies and/or other law enforcement institutions, designed to ensure the appropriate guarantees for implementing the provisions of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, laws and other legal acts. An in-depth study of a foreign language is mandatory; it provides for defending a master’s degree thesis in a specialty in a foreign language and obtaining relevant attestation documents.
All disciplines are taught by teachers who combine their work with practical activities (e.g., in the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, other courts, or as lawyers, prosecutors).

Practice

Students of the programme can put their theoretical skills into practice by participating in well-known international student competitions, international scientific and practical conferences, olympiads, webinars, etc. Every year students undergo internship in various government institutions.

The knowledge and skills acquired during the programme can be applied in the following areas:
— in the judiciary, prosecution authorities, law enforcement agencies, justice, state security, advocacy, notarial system, etc.;
— in international governmental and non-governmental organizations, in international courts and tribunals;
