This module is based on a practice-oriented approach: along with general erudition and special knowledge, students already from the first year acquire the skills to prepare journalistic texts, photo and video filming, editing, television broadcasting and screenwriting skills. They learn to create video content of various formats: documentary projects, informational and commercials, presentation films.

Students gain practical experience at a faculty television studio where they can try themselves in any role ¬ from a video operator to a TV presenter and an issuing editor. The educational and broadcasting channel "Continents", created on the basis of the Faculty of Philology, and the international broadcasting channel TV BRICS located on the campus territory, provide an opportunity for students to create news stories and broadcast them through the media platform on the Internet. Thus over the years of study at RUDN University, students form a real professional portfolio. Graduates of the Faculty of Philology also have the opportunity to get a second diploma of translator.
