In1971, Valentina Ryazanova, inspired by the social events of the university ”Melodies of the continents”, decided to create an ensemble “Rhythms of Friendship”. The main goal was to unite dancing students from different parts of the world. Since then the ensemble has become the landmark of RUDN.

In1971, Valentina Ryazanova, inspired by the social events of the university ”Melodies of the continents”, decided to create an ensemble “Rhythms of Friendship”. The main goal was to unite dancing students from different parts of the world. Since then the ensemble has become the landmark of RUDN.

For many years of work in RUDN Valentina Ryazanova, honored worker of culture of the Russian Federation, has brought up a huge number of dancing generations, cultivated love to dance, absolute understanding of its beauty, and ability to reveal yourself through dance.

There are more than 200 dances performed by the ensemble. About a hundred of them have been brought by its members from different parts of the world.

In 1984, “Rhythms of Friendship” got the title “People’s ensemble”. And since 1994, this title as “honorary” has remained with the ensemble forever.

Student from SAR becomes Mister RUDN Association of African students - 2018

2 March, RUDN chose the King of Africa or Mister RUDN Association of African students – Zim Sankvella (SAR), first-year student of the Agrarian and Technological Institute who won over students from Cameroon, Chad, Namibia, Angola, Ethiopia and SAR. Vice-Mister was Binga Medesh (Angola), third place was taken by Naftalu Kuume (Namibia).
