In the centre of Higuey, Dominican Republic, students of the Autonomous University of Santo-Domingo got their diplomas. The students speak Russian thanks to professors of the RUDN University Philological faculty- E.Baryshnikova and I.Rubakova, who have currently taught more than 60 students majoring in “Tourism and Hospitality business”. Currently almost all of them have found jobs since it is very important to know Russian. Local hotels ask for new staff with the knowledge of Russian.

Local teachers have also undergone continuing education programs and upgraded their skills of teaching Russian as a foreign language.

We congratulate our professors and wish them success in promoting Russian in the world!

This cooperation was made possible due to the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, Ministry of Higher Education, Technology and Science as well as agreement of the Autonomous University of Santo-Domingo and Peoples’ friendship university of Russia.
