Law Institute of RUDN UNIVERSITY won the 10th Annual Michael Thorsnes International Arbitration Pre-Moot Competition in San Diego, USA
This year the team of the Law Institute of RUDN UNIVERSITY, which represented Russia, has taken part in 10th Annual Michael Thorsnes International Arbitration Pre-Moot Competition in San Diego, USA.
This year the team of the Law Institute of RUDN UNIVERSITY, which represented Russia, has taken part in 10th Annual Michael Thorsnes International Arbitration Pre-Moot Competition in San Diego, USA.
On February 1, 2016 during decisive game of a semi-final 10th Annual Michael Thorsnes International Arbitration Pre-Moot Competition the team of Law institute came third among 15 teams of the leading higher education institutions of the USA.
Under the supervision and guidance by the department of Civil and Labor Law and the department of Foreign languages of Law Institute represented by Elena Sitkareva and Kamo Chilingaryan respectively, step by step team members made their first oral submissions by the end of January. Any time ready to break off the work they are currently having, two former moot participants, Stanislav Trofimchuk (Ph.D. student at Civil and Labor law department) and Timofey Ilin (Ph.D. student at Civil and Labor law department) always provide guidance as coaches of the team.
Despite all difficulties, the team members Daria Balich and Diana Khamizova managed to get into the semi-finals and came third in the tournament among best US moot teams such as Stanford Law School, Pepperdine University, San Diego Law School, Washington School of Law etc.
The project manager Mister Torsnes and arbitrators of the competition have noted solid grounding and academic background of our students.
Undoubtedly, such good results are the merit of students and teachers, and Law Institute is very proud of them!
