Young landscape designers visited “Medicinal herbary” September 11, the excursion for second-year students of Landscape Architecture to Russia’s most ancient botanical garden “Medicinal herbary” ( which was founded as far back as in 1706 by the decree of Peter the Great) took place in the context of the program “Youth landscape Forum”. The director of this unique botanical garden, Alexey Reteyum, told the students a lot of interesting facts from the past and present of the Medicinal herbary. The presence of a three- century-old larch planted by Peter the Great, the Ginkgo tree, ancient like a dinosaurs, but appreciably more succeeding in evolution , not subject to any sickness or pests and also of one of the most richest collection of succulents, the gallery of a picturesque aquiarium in the center of the city seems to be incredible.
