The forensic aspect of aspirationissues has not been paid sufficient attention to. The availableresearches were mainly devoted to the study of rapid death casesfrom aspiration. Establishing the cause of death in this case is usually non-problematic, especially when a foreign body (contents) in the airway during forensic autopsy. At the same time, the period of aspiration can lastonly few minutes, which is often observed in patients with consciousnessdepression, for example, in severe traumatic brain injury. In Russian and foreign literature the issues of morphological changes in the lung at different times of aspirationhave not been discussed properly. All mentioned above determines the relevance of studying the timing and sequence of morphological changes in the lungs during aspiration. The aim of this study was to estimate the dynamics and patterns of morphological changes in the lungs in early period of aspiration of gastric contents and blood. The following tasks were defined: 1. To study the mechanisms of acute lung injury in aspiration of analogue of gastric juice (acidin-pepsin) and bloodIn experiments on laboratory animals (rats). 2. To compare the dynamics of qualitative and quantitative morphological changes in the lungs and to identify the differences in aspiration of gastric contents and blood. 3. To study the dynamics of morphological changes in the lungs in the early period of severe TBI, accompanied by aspirationon sectional material. 4. To identify the most informative indicators of histological and morphometric changes in lung tissue in patients with severe TBI and aspiration to establish their duration.
