The First 5G Summit R&D Russia in RUDN University
RUDN University became the organizer of the first 5G Summit R&D Russia on June 19 and 20, 2017. Co-organizers were State-Financed Organization “Information City” (IT Department of Moscow Government), partners were Interstate Corporation for Development, OJSC Omsk Production Association “Radio Manufacturing Plant Named after A.S. Popov”, YL-Verkot Oy (Finland), Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), Bonch-Bruevich Saint-Petersburg State University of Telecommunications. From the RUDN University side, Summit organization is provided by the Applied Mathematics & Communications Technology Institute (director Konstantin Samouylov).

5G Summit R&D Russia was organized in the framework of the RUDN University Competitiveness Enhancement Program “5-100”.

Once in about twenty years, the cumulative technological progress is altering disruptively the capabilities of communication networks as well as reshapes their overall impact on the progress of our society. Previously, such changes were associated with the emergence of the third-generation (3G) cellular systems in 1999. These technological breakthroughs underpinned the construction of the connected society by providing the users with unprecedented services for transfer of multimedia data.

Soon, in 2019, the completion of fifth-generation (5G) systems and their ratification in standards are expected, while the launch of their large-scale implementations is scheduled for 2020. The emerging 5G technologies are designed to integrate all of the latest developments in mobile and fixed communication networks, offer the data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s, deliver the cloud computing capabilities directly to their users and, most importantly, become the foundation of digital economy.

5G Summit R&D Russia in Moscow was the first event of its kind in Russia. It provided a convenient platform for the industry leaders, innovators, and researchers from both industry and academia to collaborate and share their ideas related to the novel 5G technology that can in turn facilitate its development, standardization, and implementation. At the Summit, particular attention was dedicated to discussing the scientific perspectives on long-term transformations and innovations in the digitalization of megacities, by example of the city of Moscow.ф

The conference was attended by more than 100 participants from the United States, Russia, Egypt, Australia, India, Mexico, South Africa, Nepal. The main topics were dedicated to issues of diabetes and metabolic disorders, complications of diabetes, modern methods of prevention and treatment

"How Kaiser Wilhelm Got into a Galosh": a Modern View of the Coverage of the Paris Peace Conference

It would be shortsighted to underestimate the outcomes of the First world war. The mistakes made in this war, which were not taken into consideration, largely determined the further course of history of the 20th century. The radical restructuring of the world order did not solve all the accumulated problems. Over the past hundred years, researchers have been rethinking the role of the first world war: one of the key projects, which brought together 28 participants from 11 countries, was completed in the Romanian city of Alba Iulia at the conference “International Treaties of the Paris Peace Conference (1919-1920)”. According to its results, a collective monograph was published in the very heart of the victorious Entente, at Cambridge Scholars Publishing, entitled “The Paris Peace Conference (1919-1920) and Its Aftermath. Settlements, Problems and Perceptions”.
