For the first time, the Russian-language translation of the book “Languages of America” prepared by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2015-2017 at the request of the US Congress will be presented to the general public. The presentation of the Russian-language edition, issued by RUDN with the support of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL) and in coordination with the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, will be held at RUDN on October 30, 2018.

The meeting of excellent students is a good tradition of the University, not only a holiday for long-termhigh achievers, but also a serious motivation for all those who have just stepped onto the path of A-students. Every year, the number of excellent students is only growing - a year ago, 867 students could boast the status of “excellent student”, in 2018 their number reached 904.

The working meetings of the administration of the Medical Institute with colleagues from universities in Spain are coming to an end to expand inter-university cooperation, exchange experience and best practices, coordinate projects of working cooperation programs and promote the brand of the institute in the global market for educational services.

October 12, 2018, a delegation of representatives of 36 leading universities of China and representatives of the Ministry of Education of China headed by Ms. Shen Xuesong, Deputy Secretary General of the China Education Association for International Exchange, visited Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

The conference is dedicated to discussing the features and prospects of creating and using educational electronic resources, forming electronic and distance learning platforms, training teachers in the conditions of introducing new IT, developing content, methods and means of teaching computer science in general, vocational and advanced education systems.

October 11, students of RUDN University met with the management of the University. The meeting was held in the form of a dialogue - the students shared their thoughts about various aspects of life at the University, and also asked questions. Topical issues include an accessible environment, accommodation in a dormitory, search and support for talented students.

From 9 to 11 October, 2018, workshops for journalists of Russian-speaking media and students of journalism departments of Spanish universities took place at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Madrid.

RUDN views fostering open education as one of its key tasks. We perceive ourselves as advocates of technological progress and implementation of ICT in education in Russia and CIS-countries through various means, including professional development programs.

October 8-10, 2018, in India, in the city of Vadodara, workshops were held for journalists of Russian-language media and students of journalism departments of universities in India.

RUDN pedologists studied the combined effect of nitrogen-containing fertilizers and plastic mulching. The efficiency of the procedure turned out to depend on the part of the bed (the furrow or the ridge) that was fertilized. The results of the study were published in the Soil & Tillage Research journal.

October 4-6, 2018, in the Czech Republic (Prague), workshops were held for journalists of Russian-language media and students of journalism departments of Czech universities.
