2 March, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, President of Madagascar was awarded the title of RUDN Doctor Honoris Causa in recognition of his contribution to cooperation in education and science between RUDN University and the Republic of Madagascar.

1 March, representatives of IFRC, including national societies of Italy, Russia and Serbia, and experts in the field of migration got together at the round table «Global and regional aspects of population migration. Humanitarian challenges and interaction directions» organized by RUDN Department of international law and All-Russia society «Russian Red Cross».

20 February, RUDN University and Medi Tox international company signed a Cooperation Memorandum. Russian and international students will do internships and get employed in Czech.

India-Russia conference on cooperation and interaction in higher education was held at International News Agency «Rossiya Segodnya» on February, 26. Julia G. Potemkina represented the International Activities Department of RUDN University.

1 February, more than 1,000 representatives of Russian higher school, among them over 70 rectors of the leading universities, officials of the Ministry of education and science, representatives of Higher Attestation Commission and Russian Academy of Science came to RUDN to participate in the I Professors’ Forum to discuss university environment and economics of knowledge as the main resource of innovations in the country.

S.Mazina, associate professor of RUDN Ecological faculty, M.Chalma, Director of New Athos cave and R.Dbar, Head of the Institute of Ecology of Abkhazian Academy of Sciences agreed to research karst ecosystems, elaborate karst territories monitoring systems and diagnose the state of karst caves used for excursions.

Galina Okolnikova, professor of the Department of architecture and construction of RUDN made a report on her research in the field of modern composite construction materials.

20 December, 2017, Alla Vnukovich, Executive Director for HR and social policy of ROSCOSMOS State Corporation signed an accreditation certificate for «Knowledge-intensive industries management» educational program of RUDN Institute of Space Technologies (Department of applied economics).
