11 candidates become “Ambassadors of Russian Education and Science”

November 23, Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education conducted the first solemn ceremony for conferring the title “Ambassador of Russian Education and Science” at the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

Ambassadors of Russian education and science are government and public figures, graduates of Russian and Soviet universities, whose mission is to promote Russian education and science at leading international and socially significant platforms.

 

RUDN University is the program coordinator. The honorary title was awarded to three university graduates:

  • Santos Hilario Rigoberto (Dominican Republic) — General Director, “CONSUDOM SRL” engineering company, member of the Presidium of the Dominican College of Architects and Surveyors.
  • Najim Riad Yusef (Lebanon) — General Director, RamTEK LLC, Vice-Chairman of the Lebanese-Russian Friendship Society.
  • Hasan Shahid (Pakistan) — Director, International Business Development HabibRafiq International PVT LTD.

We hope that you will be happy with your choice and consistently promote the agenda of Russian education and science. Our task, as a Ministry, is to continue to develop higher education to facilitate your work. Russian education is constantly improving to meet the requirements of the global labor market and become even more attractive for citizens of various countries,” Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education.

The consortium of universities and scientific organizations to implement the “Ambassadors of Russian Education and Science” program is headed by RUDN President Vladimir Filippov.

The title was also awarded to:

  • Karin Kneissl — Head of the Center “Geopolitical Observatory for Russia’s Key Issues”, St. Petersburg State University, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, graduate of the University of Vienna in 1991.
  • Eduard Lobanovich — Head of the representative office of Kurchatov University in the Republic of Belarus, graduate of the Institute of Crystallography named after A.V. Shubnikov, Academy of Sciences of the USSR in 1982.
  • Anicet Gabriel Kotchofa — General Director of INCORVUZ, consultant to the President of the Republic of Benin on natural resources, graduate of the Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin in 1987.
  • Daniyar Turusbekov — Director of the Department of Protocol and Organizational Support of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Chairman of the EEC Youth Council, graduate of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2011, master’s student at MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
  • Abdellatif Abid — Honorary Consul General of Russia in the city of Agadir, graduate of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1983.
  • Al-Jundi Waddah Muhammad — Director of the Russian-Arab Center for Cultural and Business Cooperation, co-chairman of the Russian-Syrian Society, graduate of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1988.

The titles will be awarded to two more ambassadors who were unable to attend the award ceremony in person:

  • Liu Limin — President of the Chinese Association of Overseas-Educated Scholars.
  • Dorjpalamyn Tsogzolmaa — Vice-President of the Mongolian Association of Alumni of Soviet and Russian Educational Institutions “MAVSUZ”.

RUDN University and Ghana: Common Strategy for Education-Business-Science

RUDN University is to train 100 specialists in Agronomy and Ecology for Ghana at the request of its industrial partner, the Jospong Group, which unites 60 companies. The number of trained personnel will amount to over 600 within 5 years. The fields of study which are of interest to the partner include Agronomy, Information Technology, Applied Nature Management, Ecology. The company is ready to pay for travel, accommodation and scholarships for these students. RUDN University will accept students within preferential rights.

“This trip would be incomplete without visiting the university”: on the visit of the delegation of the Republic of The Gambia to RUDN University

The delegation of the Republic of The Gambia led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mamadou Tangara visited the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. Members of the delegation met with Rector Oleg Yastrebov and the staff of the Agricultural and Technological Institute of RUDN University, went on a tour of biotechnological laboratories and a laboratory for studying soils chemical composition and properties.
