RUDN University signs a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of science and education with 23 private universities in Indonesia

The visit began with a tour of the scientific centers and laboratories. Delegates visited the Institute of Innovative Engineering Technologies, the Center for Collective Use (Research and Education Center) and the Center for Simulation Training at the Medical Institute. The guests noted the high level of equipment of the centers and their impressive scale. They also praised the opportunity for students to receive the necessary practical skills at the training stage.

At a round table, representatives of the RUDN University and the Association of Private Higher Education in Indonesia discussed possible directions and options for developing bilateral relations, among them - joint master's programs, double diploma programs, joint research activities, opening centers of the Russian language, conducting intensive courses to study the Russian language in the format of summer and winter schools, as well as interaction within the cluster approach.

“For the first time, the news about the creation of Peoples’ friendship university was voiced precisely in Indonesia, Jakarta. Today, our university prepares specialists for the whole world and annually accepts students from more than 150 countries. Collaboration with Indonesian universities is of great importance to us. We are interested in cooperation in the field of research and joint educational programs. Our goal is partnership not only at the level of universities, but also at the state level for training professional staff for national economies,” said Vladimir Filippov, Rector of RUDN.

Heads of educational departments of RUDN University presented the main educational programs, focusing on the vast opportunities for students - working in modern scientific laboratories, internships at leading Russian and foreign partner companies, scholarship programs and academic mobility programs, and others.

On behalf of young scientists and the student community of RUDN University, Nikita Kuklin, graduate student of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences addressed foreign guests in the Indonesian language:

“As a student studying the foreign policy of Indonesia, I am happy to see the development of cooperation between the universities of Indonesia and my Alma Mater - RUDN University. I think this is a great opportunity for Indonesian and Russian students to get to know each other. On behalf of all students, I want to say that we are waiting for our friends from Indonesia, young scientists and specialists to work and study together! ”

The delegates expressed their readiness to develop cooperation with the Peoples' friendship university of Russia.

“We will be glad to cooperate with RUDN University, and this cooperation can be mutually beneficial. There are different faculties in RUDN University and you closely interact with business. We look forward to seeing you in Indonesia on a return visit! ” said Budi Jatmiko, Chairman of the Association of Private Universities of Indonesia.

 “We thank you for supporting our students at RUDN University. We hope that today we will not only sign the Memorandum, but also take concrete steps to implement joint measures to train highly qualified specialists,” said Ediguna Vijaya, Minister Plenipotentiary, Advisor, Head of the Information and Social and Cultural Affairs Department of the Indonesian Embassy in Russia.

At the end of the meeting, the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of science and education was signed.
