July 16-24, 2018 Alexander Zhdankov and Mikhail Safir, students of RUDN Department of Applied Informatics and Probability Theory became participants of the summer school "Enabling Technologies for the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT)" on the basis of the Department of Information Engineering (DII) of the University of Pisa (Italy) to study technologies of Industrial Internet Things - advanced technologies for intelligent management of operational processes.

July 4, the Federal Agency for Youth identified the winners of the All-Russian competition of youth projects among educational institutions of higher education of more than 2,500 applications from all over Russia. 7 projects of Peoples' Friendship University of Russia were among the winners and received a grant support of 8,750,000 rubles.
Professor Svetlana Smirnova was awarded honorary title "Honored Scholar of the Russian Federation", the corresponding Presidential Decree issued on July 24, 2018.
July 18 - 28, in the frame of Summer School for students of the Vienna University of Economics (Austria) at RUDN Philological faculty 46 students took the program "Teaching languages in the Russian lingua-cultural environment" allowing them to feel Russian culture. For many of them, this is not only a linguistic interest, but also a contribution to the prospect of obtaining work related to Russia.
July 15 - July 21 in Toronto (Canada), at the XIX ISA World Congress of Sociology congress "Power, Violence and Justice: Reflection, Response, Responsibility" employees of RUDN Institute of Foreign Languages Svetlana Sharonova and Natalia Erokhova were elected to the Research Committees of the International Sociological Association.
July 16-17, staff of RUDN International Service as part of the delegation of the RF Ministry of Education and Science headed by I.Ganshin, Director of the International Department visited Beijing in the framework of implementation state task "Scientific Methodological and Regulatory Support for the Activities of Scientific and Educational Cooperation in the period until 2020".

RUDN professor Ricardo Valentini, Head of the research laboratory "Smart Technologies for Sustainable Development of Urban Environment in the Conditions of Global Change" was awarded a medal in physics and natural sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Italy. Founded in 1782, the National Academy of Sciences (also known as the Academy of the Forty (XL)) is one of the oldest and most prestigious scientific organizations in Europe. The mission of the Academy is to promote the development of scientific knowledge in the field of mathematics, physics and natural sciences. Since the end of the 18th century, the Academy has awarded a medal for the most outstanding scientists’ contribution to science in selected disciplines.
