January 25, festive events were held in Beirut (Lebanon) on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of RUDN University. Participants planted a “tree of friendship”, plunged into nostalgia at a photo exhibition, and discussed the possibilities and prospects of promoting Russian education abroad. The organizer was the Association of RUDN Alumni in Lebanon with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Lebanon, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Lebanon, as well as RUDN.
As a child, Kasthuri read Russian folk tales and dreamed of coming to Russia. Today he is a student of the Philological Faculty of RUDN University where he studies the Russian language and culture. He has an ambitious goal: to tell about Russia back in his home country of Sri Lanka.
Soil scientists from RUDN University found that the most suitable conditions for microorganisms are created in soil pores ranging in size from 60 to 180 micrometers. To visualize the relationship between enzymes produced by soil microorganisms and pore size, researchers first created a three-dimensional map of soil structure. To do this, they used soil 2D zymography and X-ray computed tomography. The article is published in the best soil science journal Soil Biology and Biochemistry.
